Thanks for your tutorial. I had difficult time following the official documentation on apache website. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for.
Do you recommend creating a new user hdfs for all installations ? or using a default admin user will be fine? I have older version of ubuntu on my lenovo machine and your steps are fine so far.
Also please recommend a good book for beginners perspective. I am new to learning big data and looking for knowing all aspects of it. Some big data books are here - http://ift.tt/1SZ2jzq... however I am not sure which to pick. What is your recommendation for beginners?
